In a clash between two of California’s high school football powerhouses, Mission Viejo made a clear statement with a 53–14 road victory over Folsom on Friday night.

The Diablos jumped out early and never looked back, outscoring the Bulldogs 30–0 in the second quarter alone and taking a commanding 37–6 lead into halftime. Quarterback Luke Fahey led the charge for Mission Viejo, throwing four touchdown passes, including two to wide receiver Jack Junker and one each to KJ Woodbury Jr. and Max Markofski.
Folsom managed to get on the board late in the first quarter with a 22-yard touchdown pass from Ryder Lyons to Rob Larson, but a missed PAT set the tone for a tough night. The Bulldogs struggled to finish drives, turning the ball over on downs multiple times inside the red zone.
Mission Viejo’s defense also made a huge impact, recording two safeties, multiple sacks—led by Jayden “JD” Hill—and keeping Folsom from ever finding rhythm. Even when Folsom found some life in the third quarter with a second touchdown, Mission Viejo responded immediately with more points.
The Diablos finished with seven total touchdowns and two safeties, displaying dominance on both sides of the ball. Folsom, meanwhile, will look to regroup as they head into league play.
