August 15, 2025 – Inglewood, CA — The Los Alamitos Griffins opened their 2025 campaign in dramatic fashion, rallying from a two-touchdown deficit to knock off the Inglewood Sentinels, 20-12, in a gritty non-league showdown on Friday night.
Inglewood struck first behind quarterback Lincoln Jahn, who connected twice with receiver Donovin Randolph for touchdowns in the second quarter, giving the Sentinels a 12-0 lead. Their momentum, however, stalled after missed conversions and costly turnovers kept Los Alamitos within striking distance.

The Griffins flipped the game just before halftime when quarterback Colin Creason found Beckham Hofland on an 8-yard touchdown pass, trimming the deficit to 12-7 at the break. From there, Los Alamitos’ defense locked in, shutting out Inglewood for the entire second half.
Running back Kamden Tillis provided the spark the Griffins needed in the third quarter, bursting into the end zone on a 15-yard scoring run to put Los Al on top for the first time, 13-12. The Griffins sealed the victory late in the fourth when their ground game broke through once more, capping the comeback with a decisive rushing touchdown and extra point to set the final margin at 20-12.

With the win, Los Alamitos improves to 1-0 and now heads to Hawaii for a tough non-league battle against Kapolei (HI)on August 22. The Hurricanes enter at 2-0 after back-to-back blowout wins, including a 52-0 rout of Lahainaluna.
Inglewood (0-1) will look to rebound quickly as they travel north to take on Central East (Fresno, CA) next Friday. Despite the loss, the Sentinels showed flashes of explosive playmaking but will need more consistency to get back on track.
For Los Alamitos, the season opener was all about resilience — a test they passed with flying colors.
